Ascend
The third and last book of the Trylle trilogy, written by Amanda Hocking, is called Ascend. I finished reading it just a couple of hours ago, after a few days where I felt reluctant to sit down and read it. In the best way. I didn’t think I would like the series this much when I read the first book, but when I was reading the last one I felt like I wanted to keep it by my bedside and never finish it. Just keep on reading it forever. It was that good.
In the final book, everything in Wendy’s life if about to blow up. She marries a guy she doesn’t love, because that’s what’s best for the kingdom. Even though she does all she can to save her people, the Vittra King is still set on killing them all and take their kingdom, Förening, to himself. Wendy needs to come up with a solution that doesn’t end with everyone getting killed, but it’s not as easy as she would’ve liked. Killing an evil man to save her people is one thing, but killing a man that’s practically immortal is something completely different. In the end it all comes down to how much she is willing to sacrifice for the people she loves.
Ascend, just like the second book did with the first, continues where Torn was cut off. One could say that it’s one really long book split into three and you almost have to have all three books before you start reading the first one. I had the first and second, but I had to go into town to buy the third before Torn ended. I needed to know right away what was going to happen. I couldn’t wait, and that marks a really good story written by a really good author. Now, twelve days after I started reading the first book of three, I’ve finished the entire thing.
